Following the 2023-2024 Academic School Year (September 2023 to August 2024), this planner is unique (and so much more than 'just a planner) in that it is FILLED with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) resources and daily activities that are guided by research and designed to promote mental health and well-being!
SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. The benefits of SEL are well-researched, with evidence demonstrating that an education that promotes SEL yields positive results for students, adults, and school communities.
The wellness planner is broken down (by the months) into the 5 SEL Competencies: Building Relationships, Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social-Awareness, and Responsible Decision-Making.
Designing our planners in this way was intentional. While agenda skills on their own are a very important self-management skill, we wanted teachers, students and parents to have a physical product that can be used daily to promote SEL, mental health and well-being.
